This gallery of Pet Portraits and Surreal Pet Portraits, showcases my portrait work as an oil painter. I have painted Dog Portraits, Cat Portraits and and traditional portraits. It's important to capture the emotion of every pet in a pet portrait. Every animal has a unique personality and capturing that in oils, is what brings the portrait to life. Whenever I start a pet portrait, I talk with the owners about their little animal friends. I like to know what is unique about their animal and then get as many images a possible. The more photos I have for every pet, the better. Pet owners know their pets the best. Even if two owners have the same breed of common house cat, the owner can still tell the difference. Capturing the likeness of a pet, means capturing it's unique personality in every brush stroke.
